..:: Splicing Guide ::..

Do you want to combine Pokemon sprites to form a unique fake? It's really pretty simple with some practice. Here's a guide to help ye.

Choose 'Em
First off, choose the Pokemon sprites you want to use to combine. It can be as many as you want, but make sure you have a base Pokemon. A base Pokemon is the sprite with which you will cut off and add parts to, but its basic body structure would be the same--if that made any sense. I will use Latias, Pidgeot, Crobat, and Flareon, as noted below. Latias shall be my base.

Zoom, Cut, Stick It On
Now, open up Paint. Yes, that's all you need, and it's probably the simplest program to use. Copy/paste your sprites onto the canvas (big white area), and zoom it up to x6. Ready? Now, switch to the "Select" tool, and use it to cut off a body part from one of your Pokemon. I shall cut off Pidgeot's wing to start. Because the Select tool is a square and thus won't cut the part off perfectly, you'll have to drag it to the middle of an empty space and use the Eraser tool to erase unwanted parts surrounding it.

Okies. Now drag your part and stick it onto your base Pokemon. I had to reverse the wing for it to fit onto Latias. Next up, I shall cut off Crobat's wing (because Pidgeot's other wing won't fit Latias's pose), and yeah, Latias will have two different kinds of wings. XD I also cut off Pidgeot, because I need it no more.

After putting on Flareon's tuft of fur onto Latias's head, I deleted the poor, fragmented bodies of Crobat and Flareon to clear off my canvas. Now, the deranged-looking Latias-mix is the only thing to continue working on.

The Final Step: Recolor
Recoloring takes a while, so be patient. Keep the image zoomed at x6, and since you want the added body parts to match the color of the base Pokemon--if you do, then use the "Pick Color" tool and change their outline and shading/etc. to correspond. I changed Latias's added parts to red and white. After you're done, zoom it back to x1, and your sprite is done! I named mine Latiflarebateot. (Hey, I used four Pokemon!)

Witness Latiflarebateot in all its red and white glory! Oh, and there's blue, too.
