Are you having trouble coming up with names for your website? Read this guide. ^^
Coming Up With Names
Yeah...coming up with names is pretty hard sometimes. But I'll help you to it.
Basics
The important thing to know that a website's name should be unique, and different from everyone else's. Of course, words like "home", "world", "place", whatever, are pretty common. But it's what you join them with that counts, if that makes any sense to you. XD Some names can be completely crazy, like Wobblyca. However, you don't want a name that's too crazy, like Mestsoaposticadrah. I mean, who'll be able to spell http://www.mestsoaposticadrah.whatever besides you? So you see, a name should be easy to spell, with creativity and a touch of uniqueness. :3 Now, I shall help.
First Thing to Do THe first thing to do, as said in said title, is to think of what you want your website's name to be like. Do you want it to refer to a dwelling of some sort, like Pikachu's Land or Rayquaza's Pillar, or do you want it to be something like Skitty World or The Fantasia Isle? (I hate the movie Fantasia, by the way.) You can also make it one unique word. Just try to stay away from names like "Pokemon" or "Pikachu". First off, those names are far too common, and secondly, if you want a domain name, there's little chance you'll be getting something like pikachu.com, because it's likely to be already taken. So, decide now.
Some place names you might want to use are:
- _____________'s Clubhouse
- _____________'s Realm
- _____________'s Palace
- _____________'s Network
- _____________'s Shrine
- _____________'s Reign
- _____________'s Terrain
- _____________'s Turf
- _____________'s Region
- _____________'s World
- _____________'s Land
- _____________'s Place
- _____________'s Hideout
There are a lot more.
The Next Thing to Do
After what you've decided what kind of "name layout" you want to use, begin to get creative. If you chose a name referring to a place/dwelling, choose what that place would belong to. Example: Would it be Mew's Region? Spearow's Region? Decide. The easiest way to do this is to put in a Pokemon that you like. But make sure it's not taken, and make sure that the names combined sound good to you.
If you want your name to be the name of a place that does not directly say it belongs to someone with an " 's ", then you should come up with a unique word. For example, I used "Eonlight", and named a valley "Eonlight Valley". Of course, it refers to a website, but whatever. XDD The word doesn't have to be a fake word, though. You can use Velvet Turf, for all others would care. XD Eh heh...finished?
Last Thing
Checkie. You might want to tell a close friend or something about it, and ask if they like it. If they don't, glare at them. XD Just kidding. You don't even have to ask someone else about their opinion if you don't want. It's completely optional. Anyway, the most important thing is that you like it and you would want to stick with it for quite a while. You can always change your site name, but I suggest you don't change the name every week. That'll really get annoying to others.
You're Done!
Hurray! You've thought of your name! At least, I hope so. o__O;;; If you didn't...*runs*
Eh heh. Congrats! ^_______^
